Who we are

At Help with Numbers, we take your privacy seriously. This privacy policy sets out when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it and the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others. It also explains how we keep your information secure.

 

Types of data we collect

When you contact us to provide an assessment for you or your child, we collect a range of information to enable us to fulfil that service provision. 


Personal identifiers and biographical information, for example:

  • date of birth
  • school (s) / workplaces attended


Contact details, for example:

  • home address
  • email address
  • telephone number


Sensitive personal data, for example:

  • details of why you have sought an assessment for yourself or your child
  • details of your or your child’s disability or specific learning difficulty
  • details of support you or your child may have had in the past
  • assessment data
  • notes written before, during and after support or assessment sessions
  • dates of meetings held with you and your child


Family Details, for example:

  • details of other family members with whom you or your child’s school/college/ workplace have given us consent to liaise


 

Why we collect this information

We collect this information to plan and provide the assessment and follow-up support that you or the parent has requested.


Who might we share this information with?

Data is not shared with any other third parties. However, the final assessment report, with your permission, would be shared with:

  • The child’s school(s) or your workplace
  • External agencies, for example: CAMHS, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, School Nurse, Local Education Authority SEN team/ Cognition and Learning
  • Professional bodies – for the renewal of an Assessment Practising Certificate an anonymised report may be provided

 

Access to your personal information

Under GDPR you are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to lisa.ivey@helpwithnumbers.co.uk

Note: Requests to delete data relating to an individual will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but we may not be able to remove all assessment records for legal reasons.

 

How we keep the data secure

All sensitive data is stored as an encrypted file and kept for seven years. Paper records are shredded after one year.

 

Changes to this Privacy Notice

Help with Numbers will review the privacy policy on an annual basis.
